A few quick notes on water. Never drink ice cold water while exercising. It can cause cramps and also makes your body expend more energy, that you need to workout, by having to warm up the water for your body to properly process it. Take small sips, never gulp. Again, cramp potential. I try to hold the water in my mouth for a moment before swallowing (usually two small swallows). This accomplishes several things; it warms the water slightly; it thoroughly wets your mouth; and it forces you to breathe through your nose, breathing more slowly, which in turn keeps oxygen in your body longer resupplying your muscles and lowering your heart rate. Win win!
